DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham pastor David K. Dixon is currently being held at the Durham County Detention Center on four charges of statutory sex offense with a child and one charge of indecent liberties with a child.

According to warrants obtained by ABC11, it is not specified if the victim is a boy or a girl. The warrants also do not indicate in detail what Dixon is specifically alleged of doing.

However, the statutory offense alleges Dixon "unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously engaged in a sexual act with...a person who at the time of the offense was 15 years of age or younger. At the time of the offense, (Dixon) was at least 12 years old and six years older than the victim and was not lawfully married to the victim."

The warrants also do not indicate any type of relationship between Dixon and the alleged victim.

Monday, Dixon appeared virtually in a Durham County courtroom.

According to Facebook, Dixon is a pastor at Kingdom City Life Empowerment Church in Durham and regularly hosts Facebook Live bible study sessions on his account.

Family members were present in the courtroom for Dixon's appearance from the jail.

"My son is a good role model for a lot of people," said Dixon's mother to Judge Amanda Maris. "He's grown up in the church all his life and helped so many people. He's a giver. He loves friends, family...and does everything he can."

"He preaches, he teaches, he sings. He's a person that everybody loves. I'm asking you to please reduce his bail," pleaded Dixon's mother.

Based on the information presented in court and lack of criminal history, the Judge Maris reduced the $10 million dollar bond to $1 million dollars.

The Victory Christian International Fellowship of Churches released a statement in response to Dixon's allegations that reads, "On December 1, 2022, Victory Christian International Fellowship of Churches Inc., along with the Apostolic Council were made aware of allegations and pending legal actions that are in progress concerning Bishop David Ke'Andre Dixon. Due to this ongoing legal matter and in accordance with our constitution and bylaws he has been removed from all official capacities. We will continue to keep all parties involved in prayer. Currently, we have no further statements or comments."
