It happened just after 9 p.m., when a man who either had a gun or implied he was carrying one held up someone on Broad Street, police said.
The victim, who was neither a student nor a faculty member at the school, was not injured, police said.
The suspect was wearing a white mask, the victim told police.
The school was not locked down.
