FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department (FPD) is investigating a man's death after he was hit by multiple drivers in the Bingham Drive and Frankie Avenue area.
According to a news release, the investigation started after officers responded to an accident involving a pedestrian call Saturday around 9:21 p.m. Investigators said Ja'Lauis McDougald, 22, died after being hit by at least three vehicles.

Police said McDougald was crossing the road when a driver saw him in the roadway and attempted to avoid hitting him but struck him. After impact with the first car, McDougald was thrown into the opposite lane of traffic where officers said he was struck by two other drivers traveling toward Raeford Road. FPD said those drivers kept going after hitting McDougald.
Police said one driver was operating a Dodge Charger. The second was operating an unknown SUV. Officers with the FPD Traffic Unit are looking for these vehicles in connection with this fatality.
