According to police, officers were called about a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Southern Avenue just after 6p. When officers arrived, they found a person lying in the road. The person was taken to the hospital with what officials said were life-threatening injuries.
Police said the driver remained at the scene.
