Watch: Thousands of fire ants float in flood waters in Houston

Wednesday, August 30, 2017
HOUSTON, Texas (WTVD) -- There's no rescue mission for them, but fire ants are doing whatever they need to, in order to survive the major flooding in Houston.

The insects used their bodies to build a floating island on top flood waters to keep their colony together.

These colonies can sometimes contain up to 100,000 ants.
