The incident happened about 3:10 p.m. at Mechanics and Farmers Bank at 13 E. Hargett St.
A person entered the bank and passed a note demanding money, police told ABC11. The teller complied, and the suspect fled.
No weapon was used, and there were no injuries.
Police are at the scene and the case is under active investigation.
