Fayetteville police said it happened about 5:40 p.m. in the area of Pamalee Drive near Cain Road
A 2018 Dodge Durango and a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle were involved in the crash. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Treyon Christopher Tedder, 25, of Fayetteville.
The Durango driver, a 61-year-old Lillington woman, was not injured.
All lanes of Pamalee Drive at Cain Road were closed early Wednesday evening but reopened by 9 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
