Fayetteville pedestrian struck by car dies at hospital

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night in Fayetteville has died from his injuries.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Jose Morales of Fayetteville died after walking in front of a moving vehicle on US-301.

It happened around 8:40 p.m. on Gillespie Street near Airport Inn.

The driver of the 2005 Chevy Malibu did stop, according to an ABC11 crew at the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but died from their injuries, state troopers told ABC11.

No charges will be filed against the driver.
