Pedestrian struck, injured in Raleigh

RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night on South Saunders Street at Pecan Road.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

There was no immediate word on his condition.

The incident happened shortly before 9:45 p.m. and caused the closure of three of the four southbound lanes.

Raleigh Police were directing traffic at the scene. The lanes reopened shortly after 11 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
