A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old are facing charges in the Brier Creek takeover incident where shots were fired injuring innocent bystanders, according to Raleigh police.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody in Burlington, North Carolina and taken to a juvenile facility in Raleigh. The teen is facing charges of:
- Conspiracy - Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Conspiracy - Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property
- Riot
- Possession of a Firearm by a Minor
The 15-year-old was arrested in another state. Raleigh police said detectives obtained a secure custody order for the teen and, with members of the U.S. Marshals Service, located and took the juvenile into custody in Staten Island, New York.
The teenager was transferred to a juvenile detention facility and is awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, police said.
The teen faces the following charges:
- Two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury
- Discharging a firearm into occupied property
- Felony riot
- Possession of a firearm by a minor
This comes after city leaders discussed earlier this week the possibility of a proposed curfew for minors.
These two additional arrests bring the number to eight arrested in connection to four separate shootings in this incident.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
