Investigators with the Raleigh Police Department's Crime Reporting Center, working alongside other agencies, identified two women believed to be responsible for a series of coordinated thefts between January and April 2026. Raleigh police said the department's Hospitality Unit also helped locate one of the suspects.
According to investigators, the suspects are linked to 17 separate larceny incidents involving the theft of candles, Wallflower bulbs, soaps and other merchandise from Bath & Body Works stores in Raleigh and Durham.
Authorities said more than $8,300 worth of merchandise was stolen.
Police identified the suspects as 35-year-old Beatrice Harris and 32-year-old Latrice Leake.
Harris is charged with:
- Nine counts of habitual larceny
- Eight counts of misdemeanor conspiracy
- One count of felony conspiracy
- One count of organized retail theft
Leake is charged with:
- Eight counts of misdemeanor larceny
- One count of felony larceny
- Eight counts of misdemeanor conspiracy
- One count of felony conspiracy
- One count of organized retail theft
It was not immediately clear if the suspects have attorneys or when they are expected in court. The investigation remains ongoing.
