Deputies responded just after 1:30 a.m. on Thursday in the area of Jamestown Drive. They found a home riddled with bullet holes and a man with a single gunshot wound on the side of the house.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office identified him as Tyrik Javonte McLean, 26, of the Erwin area.
Investigators said McLean and two men in the street exchanged a barrage of gunfire until he was struck and killed.
The sheriff's office said it developed Jamari Anthony Black, 21, and Mizaueus Manuel McLean, 28, both of the Spring Lake area, as the gunmen.

Black was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, five counts of assault with deadly weapon intent to kill, one count of felony conspiracy, and 33 counts of discharge weapon into occupied property.
Black was being held under no bond.
On Wednesday, McLean was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, five counts of assault with deadly weapon intent to kill, one count of felony conspiracy, and 33 counts of discharge weapon into occupied property.
McLean was also ordered held with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff's office said. Additional charges may be possible.
