2 dead, 1 critically hurt in single-car crash in Fayetteville, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a deadly single-car crash that happened Wednesday night.

Officers responded around 10:50 p.m. to Cedar Creek Road near Fields Road, where two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

Eyewitness News crews at the scene saw a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Three children and a 29-year-old woman, who was driving, were inside the car.

Authorities have not released the identities of those who died.



The roadway has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation, and more information is expected to be released.
