The Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department responded to a structure fire on Downing Glen Drive at 6:47 a.m. One person was rescued from the home, while another escaped through a second-story window, the fire department said.
The rescued individual was taken to the UNC Burn Center for treatment. The other person, who was uninjured, was later arrested on an unrelated active warrant by the Morrisville Police Department.
A dog and a cat were found dead, while another cat was rescued, authorities confirmed.
Firefighters from Cary and Apex assisted at the scene, and no injuries were reported among the responders.
Wake County Fire Marshal 1 is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
