The star-studded ceremony will celebrate major sports achievements, revisit unforgettable moments, and bring together the sports industry's fan favorites and biggest stars.
"It's the crossover between sports and Hollywood and pop culture. It's really cool," ESPN Vice President and Executive Producer of The ESPYs Craig Lazarus said.
There will be 22 categories, 10 in the show, and all category winners are chosen online - entirely by the public and voted by sports fans.
Some of this year's top nominees include WNBA star A'ja Wilson, Knicks champ Jalen Brunson and LA Dodgers superstar hitter and pitcher Shohei Ohtani.
Last year's ESPYs were hosted by Shane Gillis at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, but this year the show returns back to the East Coast -- in New York City for the ninth time -- and will be hosted by comedian and "Saturday Night Live" star Marcello Hernandez.
The night will also feature special musical performances from hip-hop royalty De La Soul, critically acclaimed rapper Ghostface Killah, the legendary Slick Rick, and global baseball phenomenon the Savannah Bananas.
