WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Three people were killed and another was seriously injured in a Saturday crash on U.S. 1 in southern Wake County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said they were notified of the collision just after 12:28 a.m. near Friendship Road on the northbound side of U.S. 1.

When authorities arrived, they found a single-car crash involving multiple fatalities.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan was speeding in the northbound lanes when the driver lost control. The car then ran off the right side of the road and overturned multiple times, troopers said.

There were four people in the vehicle. Three of them died:
Driver: Darius Josiah Stevens, 21, of Spring Lake, died at the scene.
Front passenger: Ricky Rosas, 20, died at the scene.
Left rear passenger: Marion Kim, 19, of Jacinto, California, died at the scene. Kim was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash, investigators say.
The fourth crash: Luis Feliciano, 22, from Laredo, Texas. He was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus with serious injuries.

Investigators say speed is considered a primary contributing factor in the crash.
