ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 6-year-old girl died Thursday morning after she was pulled from a pond, Zebulon police said.
Authorities were called to the 1200 block of Randwick Valley Court for a drowning call on Wednesday, around 6 p.m. When officers arrived, the child had been pulled out of the water.
She was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
"The Zebulon Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by this tragedy. We ask the community to keep them in your prayers and stand with them during this difficult time," the department said on social media.
