3 dogs found dead in Wake County home; woman charged

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County woman has been charged with animal cruelty, the sheriff's office said Monday.

On Friday, deputies were called to a home in the 600 block of Pendleton Lake in Raleigh.

When they arrived, they found three dogs dead at the home.

Two other dogs and three cats were removed from the property.

Karen Tupman, 66, was arrested and charged with three counts of felony animal cruelty and three counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.



The case remains under investigation.
