RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The popular "Butterfly Room" exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will reopen on Saturday, May 24.

The immersive exhibit is modeled after a Central American forest and features a variety of live animals. A fan favorite is the two-toed sloth, but the room also includes up to 200 live butterflies, a tropical milk snake, a tarantula, and five ornate wood turtles.

The exhibit is designed to educate visitors about North Carolina's connection to the tropics through migration, shared species, and products.

Beginning Memorial Day, May 26, the Museum will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day on September 1. Living Conservatory hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
