Car and motorcycle collide at high speed in Whispering Pines

WHISPERING PINES, N,C, (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a high-speed crash between a car and a motorcycle in Whispering Pines.

It happened around 6 a.m. Thursday at Airport Road at Queen's Cove Way (about a mile east of Niagara Carthage Road).

A man on the motorcycle was airlifted to Chapel Hill with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
