NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) -- The Carolina Hurricanes' Stanley Cup championship isn't just energizing fans - it's helping fuel a wave of creativity and entrepreneurship across North Carolina.

As ABC11 continues spotlighting people and products that are North Carolina-made, this special Hurricanes edition highlights local creators whose businesses have benefited from the team's historic run.

With the Stanley Cup back in North Carolina, Hurricanes fever is at an all-time high.

For Rocky Mount-based Sweet Relish Design Co., that excitement has translated into growing demand for Hurricanes-themed merchandise.

"We started off really just making a couple of things for myself," said Megan Vlasak of Sweet Relish Design Co.

The home-based business specializes in handcrafted Hurricanes-inspired items, including keychains, earrings, bracelets, puck holders, and even oversized necklaces.

"This run has been great," Vlasak said.

The team's championship push inspired a new line of Stanley Cup Champions merchandise, helping the business grow rapidly. Vlasak is giving a special 10% discount for web orders using code: CUPCHAMPS.

"It got to the point about three months ago where I had to just start a website.

And then it just kind of goes from there. Everybody just like they'll tell us what you're interested in and we have a lot coming up for the Stanley Cup win as well."

The Hurricanes' title also inspired commemorative products across the Triangle, including a forthcoming coffee table book, digital posters, and front-page T-shirt designs celebrating the championship from the News & Observer.

In Raleigh, Noble Mansions created custom championship shirts that quickly gained attention among fans.

"I knew it was time for us to jump in with our home team and our home state.

This is my shot, and it just took off like a wildfire," said Noah Mellette of Raleigh-based streetwear brand Noble Mansions.

The celebration has even extended into local bakeries.

Raleigh's Southern Sugar Bakery created made-to-order "Hurri-Cakes" to mark the team's championship run.

"Our first batch that was very small, only a quantity of 30. We said, Let's just see, because we don't have any waste here. We make things to order, and they were gone immediately.

People have now reached out to us. Can I still get these?

We were like, yeah, we, I mean, they won the Stanley Cup," said Angie Taylor of Southern Sugar Bakery.

From custom jewelry and championship apparel to specialty desserts, the Hurricanes' historic victory is creating opportunities for small businesses across the state.

As fans continue celebrating the championship, local makers are proving Hurricanes pride extends far beyond the ice - inspiring a thriving industry of creators throughout North Carolina.
