GREENSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- An Amber Alert was issued Friday morning for a missing baby out of Greensboro. It has since been canceled and a man is facing charges.

Greensboro police said the 10-day-old boy, Courtez Austin, was found after he was reported missing around 2:13 a.m.

Prior to issuing the now-canceled Amber Alert, police, Guilford County Emergency Management and Greensboro Fire went to a neighborhood on Calumet Place to search for the child. They used multiple means of communicating with people in the area as part of the search.

Nearly seven hours later, the infant was found safe at a nearby house around 9:00 a.m., Greensboro police said. Police didn't disclose the child's or suspect's connection to the house where the child was found.

John Austin Jr., 36, has been charged in the investigation. He's facing charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor/neglect. resist, delay, and obstruct an investigation; both charges are misdemeanors. Austin was booked into the Guilford County Detention Center.

Police said Austin does know the child, but they didn't elaborate.
