Developer says southeast Raleigh data center plans still on track

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Plans for a controversial data center in southeast Raleigh appear to be moving forward despite significant community opposition.

Colorado-based RadiusDC remains under contract to purchase land along Jones Sausage Road near Rock Quarry Road for the proposed facility, which would be located near the Parrish Manor mobile home park.

The company recently withdrew its annexation petition for the site following criticism from residents and community advocates. Opponents raised concerns about the project's potential impact on the surrounding area.

Despite the setback, RadiusDC CEO Mike Krza said the company is not abandoning the project.

In a statement to the Triangle Business Journal, Krza said RadiusDC remains committed to delivering what he described as "an important infrastructure project for residents of Raleigh and the surrounding area."

The proposed development drew widespread opposition from neighbors before the annexation request was withdrawn earlier this month.
