DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Duke Lemur Center is celebrating the arrival of several new residents, including a baby lemur that visitors now have a chance to see up close.
ABC11 recently stopped by to meet Sierra Mist and her new baby, who recently graduated from the center's baby suite and moved into a new enclosure. Guests can now view the young lemur through a glass viewing area while staff continue to monitor its growth and development.
The Lemur Center is also celebrating the birth of another baby lemur.
The female lemur was born June 7 and is expected to spend the next several months bonding with her family before becoming more visible to visitors.
The Duke Lemur Center is home to the world's largest and most diverse population of lemurs outside of Madagascar and regularly welcomes new arrivals through its conservation and breeding programs.
