Darrius Tyson, 34, will serve between six years and nine years in prison.
He'll get credit for the four years he's been in custody.
Shawn Burton, 44, of Durham, was last seen in March 2022.
His family hasn't heard from him since, but his body has never been recovered.
After his disappearance, Durham prosecutors zeroed in on Tyson.
He was initially charged with murder in the case, but when' he went to trial on those charges earlier this month, the jury could 'not' agree on a verdict, and the judge declared a mistrial.
