The changes will be announced Monday morning at a news conference.
According to DFD, the moves will provide better coverage, equalize workloads and help adjust to the Bull City's changing landscape.
Some of the changes include moving a number of ladder and other trucks to new locations and introduce a new engine company.
Breakdown of the changes
- The introduction of a new company.
That district is currently covered by a "Quint." A Quint is a unit which is half fire engine and half ladder truck. The Quint will be redesignated as full-time ladder truck and be known as Ladder Company 7.
- Engine Company 7 will be commissioned and placed at Fire Station 7
- Ladder 6 will move to Station 18 and become Ladder 18
- Ladder 12 will move to Station 4 and become Ladder 4
- Ladder 17 will move to Station 13 and become Ladder 13
- Squad 4 will move to Station 12 and remain Squad 4
- Quint 19 will move to Fire Station 8 and become Quint 8
- Engine 8 will move to Fire Station 19 and become Engine 19
- Haz-Mat 13 will move to Fire Station 17 and remain Haz-Mat 13
