Durham police investigating second shooting hours after man killed

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham police investigated a second shooting on Wabash Street hours after a man was shot and killed.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1300 block of Wabash Street around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was later identified as 19-year-old Jeremiah Issac Williams II. Williams died at a hospital from his injuries.

Hours later, officers responded to a second shooting call on Wabash Street near McDougald Terrace. Police said no injuries were reported in the second shooting.
