On Nov. 6, deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff's Office arrived at the home in the 700 block of Effie Welch Road in Bear Creek shortly before 10:30 p.m.
Someone at the address had texted a family member saying they got scared during an argument.
Deputies walked around outside the home, looked through a window, and saw two people on the floor inside.
The people were identified as 50-year-old Jennifer Scott and 54-year-old Jeffrey Michael Scott, who lived at the home.
When law enforcement got inside, they discovered both had gunshot wounds. A gun was found nearby. No one else was in the home.
The case is still under investigation.
