Woman found dead inside house in Fayetteville; man in custody

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a homicide after officers found a woman dead inside a home Wednesday morning.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded around 1:49 a.m. to reports of a suspicious person in the 4500 block of Ruby Road. During that response, officers made contact with a man, later identified as Orlando Montague Pone, 53, of Fayetteville, and took him into custody.

Police say Pone led officers to a home in the 1000 block of Abrams Street. Officers entered residence and found an woman dead inside with multiple stab wounds. She was identified as Nadine Seeney Dove, 63, of Fayetteville.

Pone was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.



Authorities are investigating how Pone and Dove knew each other as well as the circumstances surrounding her death.
