On Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m., the Choral Society of Durham and the Durham Symphony Orchestra will present a free performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Durham Armory (212 Foster St.) . Attendees will experience the work performed by a 200-voice chorus accompanied by a full symphony orchestra.
The evening is intended to honor those lost during the terrorist attacks and pay tribute to the survivors, families, first responders, military members, and others whose lives were forever changed that day.
Beyond remembrance, the gathering will offer the community an opportunity to reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged in the aftermath of one of the most tragic days in American history.
"We believe it is important to come together as a community to remember those who were lost and to reflect on the strength that emerged in the face of tragedy," organizers said.
ABC11 is proud to support this special commemoration.
