Inaugural Missy Lane's Block Party in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- On Saturday, downtown Durham welcomes a new era of music, culture, and community with the inaugural Missy Lane's Block Party.

Inspired by the area's former Art of Cool Festival and under the leadership of its founder, Dr. Cicely Mitchell, this event features live performances on two stages, a vendor marketplace, food pavilion, community organization tents, and a youth activity zone. There will even be a local Wing War Competition.

Nationally renowned artists scheduled to appear include Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah, Bilal, Revive Big Band with Nao Yoshioka, Kiefer, Braxton Cook, Butcher Brown, Zo! & Tall Black Guy, Tomoki Sanders, Elena Pinderhughes featuring Samora Pinderhughes, and J Hoard.

The inaugural Block Party offers two ways to participate:

Free Community Programming at the Durham County Main Library, featuring family activities, conversations on music and art, and a quiet wellness space.

Ticketed Music & Entertainment on the 300 block of East Main Street, including the main stages, immersive nightlife, food, and cocktails. Tickets range from $60 to $250. To purchase, click here.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Missy Lane's Charitable Foundation and its mission to preserve and advance the legacy of Black American music.
