GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Eleven people were injured, including two who were airlifted, after a multi-vehicle crash in Goldsboro Saturday afternoon, officials said.
First responders were called at 12:47 p.m. to the area of U.S. 70 and North Oak Forest Road following reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles, including an 18-wheeler.
Officials said 11 patients were treated at the scene or transported to nearby hospitals. Two of those patients were flown to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Authorities did not immediately release information on the conditions of those injured.
The crash remains under investigation, and officials said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Several agencies responded to the scene, including the Goldsboro Police Department, Goldsboro Fire Department, Elroy Fire Department, Wayne County EMS, North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
