Death of woman at an abandoned Nashville school investigated as homicide

NASHVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A body found last week at an abandoned Nashville school has been identified.

On Monday, police said the person found dead at W.L. Greene Alternative School was Debbie Allen, 61.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide, police said.

Nashville PD added that it believes this was an isolated incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the community.

"The Nashville Police Department extends its thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time," the department said.
