GARNER, NC (WTVD) -- Dignitaries took part in a groundbreaking Wednesday for the new South Garner High School.
The new school on Hebron Church Road will be three stories, and plans include 111 classrooms, an auditorium, main gym and auxiliary gym, dining, kitchen, a main stadium, tennis courts, practice fields, baseball and softball fields.
The school is scheduled to open in August 2016 as swing space for Garner Magnet High School during its major renovation. The facility will open as South Garner High School in August 2017.
