Being Canadian is a new star-studded documentary that both embraces and challenges stereotypes about America's favorite neighbor to the north. The film follows director and proud Canadian Rob Cohen on a journey across his homeland.

"I was a typical Canadian child -- raised by a lumberjack, had hockey bedsheets went to school with an Inuit boy named Peter Poontip," he said in the trailer.
So are all Canadians ultra-polite, hockey-loving igloo inhabitants who end all their sentences with "eh?" To get to the bottom of this, Cohen interviewed a variety of celebrities, both Canadian and non-Canadian, including Mike Myers, Alex Trebek, William Shatner, Dan Aykroyd, Alanis Morissette and Cobie Smulders.
As one excerpt shows, Canadians aren't even sure where some stereotypes -- like the one that they're all nice -- came from, and they're not sure how they feel about those high expectations.
The 90-minute film will be available Friday with screenings in Los Angeles and New York over the weekend.
