KENLY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Kenly woman said she will help out her mom with some home improvement after winning a $100.000 lottery prize.

"I called my mom and said, 'I think I won,'" Schuprell Hinnant said. "She was in disbelief."

Hinnant bought a $30 MAX-A-MILLION ticket from Papa Jacks Store on N.C. 42 West in Kenly. She scratched off her ticket and could barely believe her eyes.

"I was just like, 'This isn't real,'" Hinnant recalled. "I did about three or four takes."

Hinnant said she sat in her car staring at the ticket for a while. Her first thought was of her mother.

On Monday, she went to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,758.

Hinnant said she plans to use her winnings to help her mom get a screened-in porch for her house.

The MAX-A-MILLION game debuted in March with 25 top prizes of $1 million and 10 prizes of $100,000. Nineteen $1 million prizes and seven $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
