ALE special agents and Durham police officers executed a search warrant at 603 Ellis Road, where agents had determined an illegal alcohol business was operating.
Agents seized three firearms, opioids and liquor. One of the firearms was recovered from a convicted felon, while another had been reported stolen.
Authorities said the property had linked to a series of violent crimes, including homicides, shootings, aggravated assaults, thefts and weapons violations.
Law enforcement agents had executed multiple search warrants at the location since 2024. On July 5, 2026, officers responded to a shooting at the business in which several people were injured.
The following people were charged during this weekend's search.
- Travis Davon Miller, 30, of Durham- business owner, charged with two counts of misdemeanor possess or sell alcoholic beverages without permit, misdemeanor possess or sell non-taxpaid alcoholic beverage;
- Tony Darnell Crews, 38, of Durham, charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm;
- Amir Mouffasah Abdullah, 31, of Durham, charged with felony maintain a vehicle for a controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana;
- Bryant Lynn Gooch, 41, of Durham, charged with possession of a firearm by felon;
- Kiara Jevon Johnson, 37, of Durham - employee, charged with two counts of misdemeanor possess or sell alcoholic beverages without permit.
In all, more than 30 arrests were made throughout Durham as part of the larger operation. Agents seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, crack-cocaine, cocaine, opioids and 11 firearms. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Durham County Sheriff's Office assisted.
