Officers responded to the 2800 block of Dillmark Court in Raleigh on Tuesday and found the victim.
He was taken to a hospital and has life-threatening injuries, RPD said.
Wednesday, Raleigh police said they are seeking charges against a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
