What you need to know about Knightdale's Arts & Education Festival

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Knightdale's annual Arts & Education Festival returns Saturday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Knightdale Station Park. This family-friendly event features educational vendors, food trucks, inflatables, a DJ, and more.

As students gear up for the new school year, backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed under the pavilion on Knightdale Station Run. Each student is eligible for one backpack and must be present to receive it.

According to the event's website, festivalgoers can enjoy a full lineup of other free activities and entertainment, including:

  • Animal showcase with Piedmont Wildlife Center (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
  • Bubble artist performance
  • Craft-making with Durham Scrap Exchange
  • Fossil display by the North Carolina Fossil Club
  • Hair braiding by As for Kids (registration required)
  • Haircuts by Cutz by Quick

  • Inflatable play areas
  • Insect exhibit with the NC State Entomology Graduate Student Association
  • Lego car building and race track with Cub Scout Pack 365
  • Music by DJ Highrise
  • Robotics showcase with RoboThink Raleigh
