The father of Lauren Bennett - the singer featured on LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" - is sharing new details on her death.

According to a statement posted on Instagram Wednesday, Bennett experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication several months before her death.

Her father said he was "deeply disappointed" that medical professionals failed to treat Bennett appropriately for five months.

"As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her," the statement read. "We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need."

The British singer began her career as part of the girl group Paradiso Girls, formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin. Their debut single "Patron Tequila," featuring Eve and Lil' Jon, hit No. 3 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2009.

After that group disbanded, Bennett joined G.R.L. The group's debut single, "Vacation," was featured on the "Smurfs 2" soundtrack. The group was also featured on Pitbull's 2014 song "Wild Wild Love."

G.R.L. disbanded shortly after member Simone Battle died in 2014, but reformed in 2016.

Bennett's 2011 feature on "Party Rock Anthem" became her first No. 1 single.

"Lauren was deeply loved and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives," her father said. "I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind.

As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we kindly ask for privacy and respect as our family grieves. We are deeply grateful for the love, support, and kindness shown by friends, fans, and everyone else who has reached during this incredibly difficult time."

The cause of death for Bennett has not yet been released.
