Man killed in Rocky Mount shooting, suspect charged

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person is dead following a shooting early Saturday morning in Rocky Mount.

Police said officers were called about a shooting with injury in the 100 block of Queens Court at 1 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Jaron Burris with a gunshot wound to his face in the parking area of the location.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.



Authorities said 33-year-old Ray Bryant Jr. was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
