Kenan Stadium hosts NCHSAA football championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- The lights were extra bright for a select group of North Carolina high schools who were competing to win their state championships Thursday night in Chapel Hill at Kenan Stadium.

1A: Wilson Prep vs. Robbinsville



The two teams went back and forth all night with not much in the way of scoring.

Ethan Nelson kicked the game-winning field goal with 20 seconds left on the clock for Wilson Prep to take home their first football state championship in school history.

8A: Millbrook vs. Hough



The Millbrook Wildcats from Raleigh took on Hough Huskies from Cornelius in the late game on Thursday.



Millbrook ended up falling short in the final game of the season. Hough 21, Millbrook 0.
