On Tuesday, Raleigh Mayor Janet Cowell announced Monopoly: Raleigh Edition.
It's a brand-new, fully customized version of the classic game. The game-maker, Top Trumps USA, is inviting residents to help choose Raleigh's iconic spots, local favorites and beloved events that will appear on the board.
"We're super excited to see where you take the family on weekends, where you go on date night, where you walk the dog. We want to hear from the public what to feature," said Katie Hubbard, spokesperson for Top Trumps USA. "Obviously, this is going to be completely Raleigh-ized. Send those suggestions in -- we want to know all of it."
The game launches in 2026. It will be available online and in stores.
It's all part of Monopoly's 90th anniversary, and Top Trumps is producing the game under license from Hasbro.
"Raleigh has a culture unlike anywhere else across the world - and we aim to ensure Monopoly: Raleigh Edition features an authentic portrayal of what local residents and visitors alike love about the Old North State's capital city," Hubbard said.
Residents can email their input to the company here. Recommendations can also be made on Top Trump's Instagram page and use the hashtag #MonopolyRaleigh.
