An 18-year-old is facing charges after police say he brought a gun onto campus at South Garner High School.
Garner Police said it happened in the school parking lot.
Jayden Curtis was arrested and is facing charges of gun on educational property, alter/remove gun serial number, resist, delay, obstruct (rdo), maintain vehicle/dwelling for controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He is being charged as an adult.
No students or staff members were hurt during the incident.
Lockdown in Moore County
Southern Middle School in Aberdeen was placed on a soft lockdown Thursday morning after reports of a possible shooter on campus, officials said.
Moore County Public Schools confirmed to ABC11 that the school went into lockdown as a caution while law enforcement officers responded. Students and staff were secured in designated areas during the investigation.

Multiple agencies responded to the campus, including the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Moore County Sheriff's Office, Aberdeen Police Department and Moore County Schools Police Department.
Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis said officers forced entry into the building by breaking a window, but no shooter was found inside. Deputies and troopers also searched the surrounding area and reported no active threat.

Officials later cleared the campus and said it was safe for students and staff to return to a normal schedule.Out of an abundance of caution, additional law enforcement remained on campus for the rest of the school day.
Authorities said no one was hurt, though one student passed out during the lockdown.
On Friday, the Aberdeen Police Department said that no suspect was located and no weapons or evidence of a weapon was found during their searches.
Investigators determined there was no active threat to the school and the caller that reported the threat was not credible.
"The origin and nature of the initial call remain under investigation and persons of interest have been identified by Moore County Schools Police," PD said in a statement. "This statement is intended to clarify the Aberdeen Police Department's role in yesterday's response, as the investigation remains active with Moore County Schools Police."
