Motorcyclist killed in crash involving Cumberland County school bus

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a Cumberland County school bus on Friday.

Fayetteville police said officers responded to a crash involving a motorcyclist and a county school bus just before 7:45 a.m. in the area of Bragg Boulevard and Andy Street.

Police said an investigation found that the school bus was driving south on Bragg Boulevard attempted to make a U-turn when the motorcycle, which was traveling north, collided with the side of the bus.

Authorities believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

The driver of the school bus was identified as Lisa Geddie, 55, of Fayetteville.



The motorcyclist, 33-year-old Antonio Topp of Fayetteville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said at the time of the crash, two students were on the bus. No injuries were reported.
