GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A driver is facing charges after a deadly crash into the back of an ambulance in Gaston County.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Jared Logan was going more than 100 mph in his Dodge Challenger on Monday morning when he rear-ended a Cleveland County ambulance making a U-turn.

"A bad decision," Charles Logan said. "I'm praying for them. Just feel so bad about the situation and just hope in time, they can forgive my son. It was just a bad decision."

Cleveland County officials said Moore has been a paramedic and field training officer for the past nine years.

Jared Logan, 35, was charged with second-degree murder, driving while impaired, reckless driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
