A coastal low pressure system has been bringing periods of heavy rain to central North Carolina since Monday night, with the heaviest rainfall expected through Tuesday afternoon.
In the Triangle, there will be lots of dry time on Tuesday.
Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible, with isolated higher amounts, especially along the I-95 corridor. Locally heavy rain could result in isolated flooding in some areas.
Looking Ahead
Wednesday: We start to dry out as the low pushes northeast and away from the region. Highs will be back in the 70s in the afternoon.
Thursday/Friday: Dry and sunny with temps climbing back into the middle to upper 80s. Humidity will increase with predominantly southerly to southeasterly flow.
