Nephew of Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman arrested in Mexico; more than 1,500 pounds of cocaine seized

A man described as the nephew of Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán has been arrested, Mexico's top security official said Tuesday.



Isai "N" - who was wanted in the U.S. - was arrested in the border city of Nogales, Secretary Omar Harfuch, the head of Security and Citizen Protection, said in a post on X.



Separately, authorities also seized more than 1,500 pounds of cocaine and 150 firearms during the execution of a search warrant in Tapachula in the southern state of Chiapas, Harfuch announced. Authorities also seized 363 magazines and 18 grenades.



Harfuch called the operations "significant" actions against criminal organizations.
