WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Members from the U.S. Coast Guard and National Park Service rescued a loggerhead sea turtle Sunday in Oregon Inlet.

Watchstanders in Wilmington were called to help the animal after a boater spotted the turtle tangled in a line and dragging a plastic bucket near Bonner Bridge.

A crew from Station Oregon Inlet, along with a National Park Service agent, was able to free the turtle from the line and determined the turtle to be in good health with minimal injuries.

The loggerhead was then released.
