The repair, which began earlier this week, was originally expected to be completed by Monday at 2 p.m., but officials said it took a little longer.
The road reopened shortly before 5:20 p.m., and traffic signage was taken down.
Raleigh Water called this a "water distribution system repair."
"Raleigh Water appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as crews work to resolve this issue as quickly and safely as possible," the city utility said.
